At the Schwarzer Adler they place great importance on sophisticated architecture and innovative ideas, which has allowed them to transform this former inn into a lovingly 4 star superior boutique hotel.
The unique architectural feature of the hotel is the large roof terrace with the longest rooftop pool in the Alps. Awarded with the Austrian State Prize for Architecture, summer swimming under a blue sky surrounded by breathtaking scenery is guaranteed. Whilst you are doing your lengths in the pool you can watch the majestic environment glide past you: the Hahnenkamm, the Kitzbüheler Horn and the mighty Wild Emperor mountain range.
Clear lines, warm colours and classical elegance can be seen in the lobby. Individual design with attention to detail, not forgetting the regional ties: the glass front of the reception was decorated with winter motives by the famous Kitzbühel artist Alfons Walde. In the lounge with open fireplace old wooden doors were turned into original wood panels, typical of Kitzbühel. The fireplace is made of natural stone.
To simply have the latest fashions in furniture and design would not have been enough - the hotel would not have been unique. It made sense to use natural regional products and to translate Tyrolean workmanship into a contemporary form. As a traditional Kitzbühel hotel they wanted to keep close to their roots but also refrain from falling back on Tyrolean romanticism. So they combined traditional elements with a fresh, modern appearance.
The 88 rooms and suites offer stylish comfort and different categories are available to suit the individual. In the junior suites and suites a private sauna offers relaxation and in the studios the baths guarantee superb views of the surrounding mountains. Eye in eye with the „Streif“. An amazing view of the world-famous downhill ski run on the Hahnenkamm mountain. But the studios have much more to offer: purist modern design, innovative technology and high quality natural products such as the oak flooring and woollen fabrics. The furniture, lamps and bathrooms were specifically made for the hotel. Every studio is therefore unique.
The marvellous landscape of the Kitzbühel Alps is conveniently situated for day trips between Munich (120 km), Salzburg (80 km) and Innsbruck (100 km).
Kitzbühel (population: approx. 8.500) is one of the most fascinating town in the Alps. With its historical town centre, the glamorous flair of the shops and boutiques and first-class restaurants Kitzbühel has become a premier address for visitors from all over the world. May it be alpine skiing, golf on one of Kitzbühel´s 4 golf courses, any kind of winter sport activities, a stroll through the romantic old town with its little coffee shops, bars and discos or an evening at the casino - the inexhaustible possibilities of Kitzbühel always guarantee for diversification.

Schwarzer Adler
Why is eating in the „Kitz Stube“, the „Hirschenstube“ and the „Tyrolean Stube“ such a special pleasure? Because of the culinary creations of the head chef Stefan Hofer. Whether typical Austrian cuisine or international specialities, the ingredients are always high quality and fresh.
The restaurant features 3 different wooden parlours: The "Tiroler Stube", the "Hirschenstube" (Hunter´s parlour) and the "Kitz Stube". Every morning the large breakfast buffet with farm products from the region and prosecco awaits the guests in the 3 individually decorated parlours of the Hotel Restaurant.
If you would like to spend an à la carte gourmet evening, take a closer look at the award winning restaurant "Neuwirt" located next to the lobby. This restaurant has been in existence for more than 150 years; we traced its roots back to 1844. It has received one Michelin star and two Gault Millau toques several times, thereby counting as one of the top restaurants in Tyrol.
Whilst building the rooftop pool on the 4th floor they also built a boardroom (60 m²) with state-of-the-art technical equipment. It offers access to the rooftop lounge and bar and is the perfect location for smaller meetings and conferences between 2 and 16 delegates.
