Winter sports

Downhill-Skiing and Snowboarding

Nearly all of the seven towns has its own mountain lift. In total, there is a single massive ski region: 52 lift systems – the most modern cable cars, chair and tow lifts – join the wonderful heights. Combined, the region can boast 152 highly varied kilometers of slopes. Whether one is a racing carver or a leisurely skier, a tot on the slopes or a (new) beginner – everyone will find the terrain that best suits their style, their speed and their level of fitness. For boarders, the Zugspitz Arena has a particular thrill to offer – fun parks and half-pipes add to the joys of the snow.

 

Cross-country skiing

Cross-country skiing on dozens of kilometers prepared trails. (classic and skating) in the Tyrolean Zugspitz Area. Snow guaranteed cross-country skiing trails on the Ehrwalder Alm, Ponöfen in Ehrwald as well as Berwang are available. New is the snow-covered and snow guaranteed GOLFTRAIL with a length of 2,3 kilometers. The trail begins at the restaurant Golfino and goes along the golf course back to the starting point.

 

Summer sports

Mountain-Biking

The fascinating mountain landscape of the Zugspitz Arena provides more motivation than any trainer. Mountain biker ride a the limits every day. Road cyclists know each and every hidden side street. Hobby and family cyclists sit firmly in the saddle. Even so-called "Sunday riders" are underway during the week.

The beautiful scenery and the numerous, well-groomed and marked bike routes bestowed the Zugspitz Region alreaddy for 2 x the award for the best mountain region of Austria.

From 1,000 metres upwards, pedal pushers are riding at the highest level. More than one hundred signposted bike trails are open to two-wheel enthusiasts at the foot of the Zugspitze. Easy hoppy routes in the valley. "Water trails" around the Heiterwang See, the Plansee and the Fernsteinsee. Demanding mountain bike trails at altitudes above the treeline. To make it easy, mountain lifts on the Grubigstein or Hochalm take the strain of the strenuous climbs - once on top trails are more or less level.

 

Hiking and Climbing

Anything the heart desires, ranging from leisurely walks up to the extreme tour on the top of the Zugspitze, here in the Zugspitz Arena the offers are numerous. The modern cable cars facilitate the ascent or descent, the many hiking and climbing tours are very well signposted and maintained. Some climbing and hiking trails have the "Wanderguetesiegel" of the country of Tyrol and are therefore highly recommended.

 

Golf

In the midst of the majestic region with wonderful mountain panorama one will find the 9-hole golf course Tiroler Zugspitze. The golf course has all the necessary facilities like a driving range, club house with shop and cafe-restaurant, golf practice facilities, spacious fairways with a changing contrast. The golf course meets the cutting edge and international criteria. For information and tips, as well as for courses or training, guests should contact the Golf Academy, headed by a PGA Head Professional. Special introductory courses for beginners are offered.
