The Shangri-La's Vingillili Resort & Spa is a 5 star luxury hotel in Addu Atoll, located south of the equator. The island is one of the larger size of the Maldives islands with dense vegetation and unspoilt nature on land and underwater. The resort belongs to the famous luxury hotel group, Shangri La's and was built according to strict environmental guidelines.

It has 142 detached villas that are divided into seven different categories. The villas are situated on stilts above the sea or on the beach and all offer breathtaking views of the ocean. Some of the villas have private infinity pool and a terrace with direct access to the sea.

The villas are all modern and elegant and offer not only spacious bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, LCD TV, Bose DVD player and iPod docking station but also free internet access, complimentary snorkel gear, free use of bicycles and fresh fruit.

The island is covered by a deciduous forest with 17,000 coconut trees and a variety of exotic birds. The 30,000 square meter, "The Village" includes a recreation and aquatic center and an Eco Centre. Here marine biologists can answer the guests' questions and organize tours on land and at sea. It is through the dense forest and lush jungle trails, where you will be accompanied by a professional guide. The Vingillili Resort and Spa is also a paradise for divers. The crystal clear water is home to hundreds of different fish species and in addition there is an old British ship wreck to discover. In the water sport center, the equipment can be rented for this purpose. In addition, the hotel offers many other water sport facilities, such as sailing, kayaking, catamaran, speed boat, banana boat, surfing, deep sea fishing and boat trips to neighboring islands. But on land there are a variety of ways to make your free time. As well as two tennis courts, children's playground, jogging trails and a fitness center, there is a wonderful spa where guests can enjoy  Asian massages and Indian Ayurvedic treatments. There is also a yoga pavilion overlooking the ocean.

In March 2012 opend a 7 1/2 acre golf course. In addition to complete equippment what is available here, the course offers a beautiful view and an impressive flora and fauna.

There are a number of different restaurants and bars. In the main restaurant, a- la- carte dishes are served from around the world. The other restaurant offers traditional dishes with local ingredients. The bars offers a live DJ and stunning views of the ocean. Guests can relax here in the evening with chill-out music in the backround.
