Hotel de Rome is located on Bebelplatz, off Unter den Linden. It is a conversion of an existing building constructed in 1889 by architect Ludwig Heim (appointed master builder of the government). This is one of the few luxury hotels in Berlin located in an original building. The ornate and classical design of the original building has been given a contemporary twist by designer Tommaso Ziffer, who also designed the Hotel de Russie in Rome.
Hotel de Rome in Berlin has 146 large bedrooms including 61 Classic rooms, 27 Deluxe rooms, 15 Superior Deluxe rooms, 30 Junior suites, five Classic suites, three Executive suites, two historical Deluxe suites, two Historic suites and the 105 sqm Bebel suite. Original architectural features have been restored and, in other cases, re-interpreted – the room doors, for example, are designed to be reminiscent of bank vault doors. Most of the rooms have high ceilings and classical proportions. The Bebel suite at Hotel de Rome has a full-length terrace which overlooks Bebelplatz.
The restaurant seats 120 and looks onto a large external terrace which will be used for al fresco dining during the summer months. The bar has a contemporary feel and it features a long bar overlooking Bebelplatz. During the summer months the roof top terrace offers a breathtaking view over the city.
The Spa has a steam, sauna and relaxation area, and a fully-equipped gym. The original vault of the bank has become a 20 meter swimming pool. A range of therapies and health and beauty treatments are provided in the six treatment rooms.

Location and Travel
The Hotel de Rome is located on Bebelplatz, off Unter den Linden, not far from the Brandenburg Gate and opposite the Humboldt University in the Mitte district at the heart of Berlin. Bebelplatz is one of Berlin's most impressive squares with its imposing classical buildings; to the right of the hotel is the Opera House and, to the left, the former royal library, now the university law school. Mitte is one of Berlin's oldest districts housing many of Berlin's main sights including the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and Alexanderplatz. The historical and lively district of Mitte also contains Museum Island, with a selection of interesting museums including the famous Pergamon Museum, the National Gallery, Berlin Cathedral and the Museum of Antiquities. Parioli Restaurant
The Parioli restaurant has an impressively elegant design in warm beige and brown tones with golden accents, reminiscent of the building's former use as a bank. The round table alcoves are suitable for private meetings and discussions. A special highlight is the restaurant's terrace within a picturesque courtyard, which offers a wonderful atmosphere for breakfast, lunch and dinner during the summer months.
Bebel Bar & Velvet Room
Hotel de Rome's Bebel Bar has a stupendous view across historic Bebelplatz. Stylishly designed in warm brown tones with a 10 metre long bar and 6 metre high ceiling (part of it still with the original stucco decoration), the Bebel Bar attracts a wide range of Berlin night owls and visitors to the city. The Velvet Room, with its velvet covered walls, offers a more private atmosphere.
Opera Court
At the turn of the century, the Opera Court was the bank lobby - today it is like an elegant living room nestling under the gold-framed skylights in the stucco ornamented 5 metre high ceiling. Modelled on The Brown's in London, a member of the Rocco Forte Collection and many times recipient of The Tea Guild award for best afternoon tea in London, the Opera Court invites guests to tea in the best British tradition from 2 pm to 6 pm daily.
Terrace
Hotel de Rome's stunning roof-top terrace offers a fantastic and impressive view across the rooftops of Berlin's historic city centre. The State Opera House on Unter den Linden, St. Hedwigs Cathedral, Berlin Cathedral, the Television Tower and other city landmarks appear to be in touching distance.
Rocco Forte Hotel de Rome's function suites are the ideal setting for exclusive conferences and events. They have 5 conference rooms and the impressive Ballroom ready to cater for your function. The facilities are all close together and thus give you the privacy and discretion you need for your conference or event. All the salons are on the ground floor and can be accessed via a separate, historic entrance on Französische Strasse. All rooms have natural lighting but can be fully darkened. A wireless Internet connection and a full range of equipment are available.
SALONS
Salon 1
Salon 1 with its 40 sqm floor area is ideally suited for discrete small work groups or private dinners for up to 35 persons. A data projector and screen are permanently fixed to the ceiling and can be used at very short notice.
Salon 2 & 3
Salons 2 and 3 each have about 50 sqm of floor space and are equipped with movable walls allowing the two salons to be combined into one. When combined they are ideal for conferences for up to 85 participants as well as for dinners and receptions for between 70 and 90 people. Taken alone, each salon can accommodate up to 45 people. A data projector and a screen are a permanent fixture in Salon 2.
Salon 4
This corner salon with its 50 sqm of floor space affords the necessary discretion for smaller meetings with up to 50 participants. This salon is particularly well served with daylight thanks to windows on two sides. Both a data projector and a screen are available.
Salon 1 – 4
All 4 rooms have interconnecting doors and can be combined. Together they have a floor area of 200 sqm, an ideal space for exhibitions and product presentations.
Salon 5
Measuring 60 sqm, this is the biggest conference room and is highly suitable for conferences or private gatherings for up to 70 persons. Both a data projector and a screen are available.
Ballroom & Foyer
The ballroom, formerly the main counter hall of the bank, with its glazed roof towering nearly 10 metres above the original 19th century mosaic floor, is an unusual venue for top-class events: It accommodates receptions for up to 250 people. Whether you want to hold a reception or have a light business lunch, the Ballroom Foyer with its listed gold leaf paintings in the alcoves is the perfect location for greeting your guests.
Suites
The suites, from the Classic category upwards, offer that degree of privacy and discretion you need for private conversations and meetings. They have a separate living room which is ideal for small meetings of up to 8 people. All suites are equipped with computer and fax connections as well as high-speed Internet access facilities.

Roof Terrace
Hotel de Rome's magnificent roof terrace offers a fantastic and impressive view across the rooftops of Berlin's historic city centre. The State Opera House, Unter den Linden, St. Hedwig's Cathedral, Berlin Cathedral, the Television Tower and many other landmarks are almost within touching distance. If the weather is good, the terrace can accommodate exclusive open-air receptions for up to 160 people.
Opera Court
The Opera Court, located in what was the bank's lobby, with its gold framed skylights in the 5 metre high stucco ceiling is a magnificent venue for elegant receptions and stylish dinners for up to 100 people.
Vault
Whether it be a wedding anniversary, a proposal of marriage, an engagement party or a birthday party, the former bank vault is an unusual location for receptions for up to 15 people or for romantic candlelight dinners. Money, jewels and other riches used to be stored here behind massive steel doors - today you can enjoy an exclusive menu in romantic candlelight with your own "treasure" or with your friends and family.
