In 1865, a traditional Engadin farmhouse was converted into the Pension Saratz and in 1875, the era of belle époque, extended to create a splendid first-class hotel. 1996 the family Saratz reopened the hotel after they invested approximately 50 Mio. Francs into reconstruction and extension.

Relatively new is the accessible wine cellar next to the Art Nouveau Restaurant. It counts around 260 different wines - from a fresh and fruity aperitif wine to full-bodied exotics. An emphasis is put on local treasures from Graubunden, which in recent years have made huge gains in terms of quality and finesse. ??
